ask sly si bout this? he has a 2.0 HGT but had the exact same problem? i think it turned out his air flow sensor had gone?

ahh yeah but a 1.6 doesnt have a air flow meter but thanks for your reply :D... any ideas guys?

its like on every gear am on 5th gear... :| hard to pick up speed.. at times.. when its cold its fine. i dont think the car has been serviced would that make a diff?

Think you've answered your own question there chap. Unless I've misunderstood the nature of your original question in which case, try a different chat up line. ;)

OI! Road safety nutters!! George Orwell ment '1984' to be a warning, NOT a template!

i had this problem with mine, could be one of 2 things, 1 being fuel pump, 2 being injectors.

She's a monster soon to be revealed :)

If they didnt want it stripping they shouldnt have used nuts and bolts :)

has cambelt been changed recently ?
it could be out by a few teeth, the higher the revs the less noticable i found.

what it will be, the previous owner had injector problems so they replaced the injector that was faulty and they didnt match it up to the rest so the spray patern isnt the same so now uv got a flat spot at around 4000revvs and it idles like a bag of poo...i had the same problem and so has my aunty.

i replaced all 4 my injectors with a full matching set and its spot on now...never mind all the servicing crap wont do anything!

Shaun, he said "properly till 4000" it doesnt mean at 4000, but till that point.
Im not saying it cant be the injectors, but if the service aint done - do it and then see if the problem is there.
Why to jump to changing a costly thing when you can first start with the basics.

Just as a example, after an oil, oil filter, diesel filter change, my car reacts better to the throttle, consumes less diesel and is quiet, so small things can do much difference.
