General price of a stilo

General price of a stilo

Given the way the residuals on a Stilo drop i'd say you would be better looking for a used model unless you absolutely have to buy a new one.

I bought a 12 month old 1.6 Active 5dr in Crystal Green with 14k on the clock a couple of months ago for £6995 and the Dynamic only seems to be going for around £400 more.

Given that the list price on a new one is around £12k including air con then it's hard to justify buying new...

I'd agree - don't buty a new one unless you really need to.

Thames in Slough are doing pre-registered Dynamic 1.6 for £8500 (they seem to have been pre-registered a while ago though [8)]) We still decided to buy one a year old though for even less, on the premise that some of the "teething troubles" should have been ironed out by now.

Had it a couple of weeks and no probs... apart from the seat cover that was bleached when the dealer was preparing it - d'oh. Front tyres look like they're starting to wear a bit too - so they can check that, given that it's reported as a bit of an issue by others using the forum.

Love the car though, especially as I never see any others! :D

Agreement here too.

I bought a 8 month old Abarth and made a massive saving on anything you could get new or even as an import. I paid £9500 with 12K miles compared to £16-17K new.

Apart from some real small niggles, I am loving it too.:p

I think I got a decent all round deal. Brand new 1.8 5 door Dynamic for £10,250 deposit £500 and the rest interest free over 4 years. Non-metallic black with multiplay cd.
However...I'm well aware that I'll lose about 4 grand in the first year, but I only lose that if I sell it. I fully intend to keep the car at least 4 years.
You can't beat a brand new car as long as you go in with your eyes open, and don't cry when you try to part ex it in a couple of years time!

Well... does anyone think thats cheap? Or was I ripped off?
What did YOU pay?

Sounds a pretty good deal to me. I paid £12,836 (4 years 0%) for my 3dr 1.6 Dynamic in March 2002 with added CD player, side skirts and spoiler. I know the spec of the cars these days isn't as good as when I bought mine but it's still a big difference.

I always like to buy new cars simply because you know it's been looked after and hasn't been thrashed. Plus 0% finance saves you a fortune in interest and you can pay it off early knowing exactly how much you have to pay back.

Thanks for replying. Did you get alloys as standard? I didn't, other than that, I don't know what they dropped, or made optional. I've got some things (like puddle lights and 12v socket in boot) that some don't seem to have got.

Yes, I got the 16" alloys as standard, they're a bugger to clean though. I've read loads of posts on the forum and it seems to differ from car to car what bits are missing. I've heard there isn't the ski slot/cup holder in the middle of the back seat anymore and the storage drawers are missing from under the seats. I also read somwhere that you don't get colour coded door mirrors as standard anymore.

I've got all those! I found those little trays under the seats by accident. I've got the ski slot/armrest/cup holder, etc and the passenger seat folds flat into a table, everything is colour coded.
Hmm...I'm just wondering, maybe I got an old spec car with the alloys taken off. Not that I'm bothered, I've got everything except alloys, and I'm shopping around for 17's at the moment.
