power steering

the power steering has sprung a leak on my 1997 hgt, it was cured for a few months with 'stop leak' p/steering fluid,but now has returned, what should i do, will the pump need changing ??can i get it reconditioned??? any suggestions greatly appreciated

You can get the rack reconditioned or buy a second hand rack. Buying a second-hand one may not be advisable as it's a common problem with the Bravo. I'm sure there are lots of companies doing recons

http://www.powersteeringservices.co.uk quoted me £150 to recondition mine(the Fiat labour will cost more!!). I haven't got around to sorting mine out yet,it's been dropping fluid for nearly two years now, just been topping up the fluid reservoir every 3 weeks or so!

cheers (it wont cause further dmmge)??

it wont do any further dmmge by not getting it replaced??? will it?? i rather just keep topping it up if its not going to cause anything else to fail or cause major probs in the long run ...

No, provided you don't mind a few drops of fluid on your driveway and you keep and eye on the reservoir to stop the rack from ceasing it will be fine and won't cause any damage to anything else.
