Technical power steering light

hello

i have a problem with my power steering light . it comes on although,the power steering is fine . when it comes on ,if you full lock the steering it will go out but then it comes back on , in a few minutes .

it does not come on all the time . just about 1 day every fortnight .

its a diesel panda and the battery is in good condition . as it will turn the car over very quickly for a good few minutes , which is needed in this cold weather .

if i need a new steering motor ,does the motor need to be matched to the ecu? and how hard is the job to do ? ( i am quite handy with spanners)

Have to actually checked the battery, just because it starts ok doesn't mean it's charging correctly, or holding the correct charge

That's ok. I just hope I'm right as its the cheapest fix, if you know what I mean.

used a volt meter on the panda today . was reading 12.4 volts with the ignition on and 14.4 v with the engine running . but the light never came on today . sods law.
