power prob

Got a problem...trying to install a sony cd tuner to my cinq but it doesn't seem to be getting any power. The sony cd comes with a lead which splits into two plug parts. I plugged it into the cd tuner and then connected the power plug (4wires) to the lead from the car. I didn't even try to swap over the speaker plug I just wanted to see if it would work for a start. Essentially all I'v done is swap the old system for the new one, I was wondering if it has something to do with cinq not having an accessory position on the ignition key hole?

Any help appreciated

use a constant positive, just to check it works. Mine is anyway, turning on the ingition doesnt turn the h/unit on either

hmm,strange it should work.maybe the head unit needs 2 power feeds or maybe the fuse in the head unit(if fitted) has popped when swapping leadsB)

you could take a wire from the cigarette lighter for your power supply. should have a non permanent one already though, the accesory position and the on position are the same thing on Fiats. the original headunit sould power off when the engine is turned off.

try inserting a disc into the headunit. if the permanent supply is working it should load the disc. it does on my sony unit anyway
