General power loss in my green scudo

hi new to this got a2001 2.0jtd was flying but lattley has done strange things starts fine and idles ok but some times after a short drive it seems as if a rev limiter cuts in at much lower revs powers fine up to those revs and you then notice it idles rough also when you lift the gas pedal the engine seems to delay shutting down slightly .next time you drive it may be fine you never no.Also there seems to be slight clutch judder and a whir from maybe the thrust bearing. the speed the engine shuts downafter lifting the gas seems to also depend if the clutch is pressed a lot to think about can any one help thanks woodlarck
