Hi All, I was just perusing Gumtree and came across this dormant Barchetta:

http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/fiat-barchetta/1008408620#gallery-item-full-4

Its clearly been stood a while and is the questionable shade of orange but for £600 with a hardtop it doesn't seem overly expensive and might be some cheap summer wheels for someone with the enthusiam and skill to ressurrect it?

Its just down the road from me but I have enough 'bodywork issues' keeping one on the road! :(

Would have thought you could break it for that price

No!! There's few enough left as it is!

Always had a soft spot for the orangey ones.

Looks like it's been badly neglected - and stored in that confined space, with crap all around it, every panel is probably dented to b*ggery.

But at £600 it's not a fortune...

I'm going to drop him a note.

I'm very tempted. but my wife would kill me if I bought another one.

(My late father-in-law once bought a lovely but very tired Lancia Fulvia, and was so terrified of his wife's reaction that he stored it in a neighbouring farmer's barn, & didn't tell her about it! He'd go off to work in the morning in his Volvo - a P1800 - nip around the corner, swap the Volvo for the Lancia, belt off along the Suffolk B-roads to work, and swap over again on the way home. It was ages before she found out. Married life, eh?!)

I've always wanted a steel wheeled orange one - sucker for the original brochure!
Gumtree is up the creek, so haven't managed to get in touch - a friend of mine is very keen and for that price.....

Yes! I've still got mine, too - I never thought when I first picked up that brochure that one day I'd have one. In those days, my cars had to have room for 3 kiddie seats!

Yep it's broken I get the same message...............

Something went wrong while we were trying to serve this page and now we can't give it to you.
Please try again and if the problem persists, don't worry: we've been notified and will be rushing to fix it.

Which town? I'm in Surrey.

New Malden.

I also have seen a silver car in a scrappie with a mangled front.

I didn't own my car then but may re visit the yard to see if it or parts of it

are for sale.:)

The orange one in Watford is an import from China  Needs bumpers, full respray, hood plus engine work as its very noisy apparently. He wants £550 for it - just the lights and hard top would make more than that if you were of a mind to break it. I don't think its financially worth the restoration, which is a shame as I'm a sucker for an orange B, but someone might think differently...
