ive bin on the fone to noble tuning(the makers of noble cars) in chesterfield and he is willing to rebore the engine for £125+vat and have new pistons made at about £125 each so just before i find any more out does anybody know if the 147 block is the same as the 2.4 ?

i think im gunna do it as there isnt anybody i know with a rebored hgt and for the cost you cant go wrong can you lol

Well don't expect a big gain as the block can't be bored out much further past maximum overbore. The 2.4 engine is not bored but in fact stroked so I hope these people have dealt with this engine before as it's not an easy one to get right.

im just interested in what it is

if i get 5bhp ill be happy as it is something different lol

i wonder if you could stroke and bore lol 3.0l lol would be nice lol

i imagine stroked is dearer lol

This car seems to be turning into a Frankenstein's monster :)

It'll be a supercharged, turbo'd, 4.5litre dragster by the time you've finished lol

it already goes well but as anybody whos owned a hgt or anything quick you get used to the power in no time lol so i reckon with a rebore, uni chip and remap and polished air intake i think it should be considerably quicker especialy with the new gearbox lol

Easier to fit a Turbocharged Lump. Why not try and fit an S3 engine or something? Be different that way.

ive already thought about turbo lump but thats bin done now and to be honest it wouldnt suit what i want but a nicely tuned na or supercharged would defonatley be different lol
i know that a turbo would be quicker but as the car is going to be insured for the road to enter the street car class i couldnt afford the insurance lol

@donny lad... forget wasting your money, if you want power get turbo lump, like me and jay, anything else is a waste of money.

as stated the 2.4 is stroked, so if you can source a stilo crank, pistons, rods, and shells and rebore it with custom pistons you might see 2.5... but then you need to add something like a motec ecu management (good luck with that) or alternative stand alone ecu replacement

Nico has the best na 20v engine i know off and he has 200bhp, still not the same as a standard turbo lump and from what i know alot more!

what do you want from your car?

cheap still, get a 16vt lump then you have 4wd possiblities aswell.

you need to add the removal and fitting of your engine to the rebore costs AND the stripping of the engine!

2xHLX owner,3xHGT, (then the darkside) 1xCoupe20vt now the proud owner of a Black Coupe20vt LE!

a 4x4 would be nice but who would you go to for that sort of conversion?

i want quick acceleration realy

can the turbo be bored or stroked?
i bet that would make for interesting power delivery lol

2.5 turbo does have a ring to it dunt it lol

It's people like him that keep these stupid tuning shops going like Demon Tweeks ;)

Just kidding..
