Technical Possible gearbox noise

Hi, first post from me.

I own a FIAt Doblo 1.3 multijet cargo van.

The van is making an horrific grinding noise when not under load. Ie, if I pull away then take my feet off the pedals, as the vehicle naturally slows and comes to a stop it generates an extremely pound, severe grinding noise.

I’ve replaced the pads and discs so I know it’s not them.

I’m doing my head in trying to figure it out, one minute I think it’s driveshafts, then maybe main shaft bearing, then flywheel etc etc.

Anybody had a similar issue before I take the box out on my back

Hi last week my van was making similar noise, I had the same thought as yours. It's gone now after I sprayed silicone on the aux belt pulley, crankshaft pulley and alternator clutch pulley.
I'm still unsure what the noise was until it comes back then I can try and eliminate again, the clutch did feel high though and I'd been driving on dusty environment.

Thanks, il give that a go as it’s certainly an easier option. I did think about a pulley and gave them the once over but couldn’t find anything.
