My 1996 B is not a show car! I live in Spain so it collects scrapes regularly (self inflicted and 3rd party inflicted), I am not bothered about the bodywork, instead I focus on the mechanicals. Over the last year all the brake and suspension parts, anti roll bar bushes, starter motor, complete exhaust, tyres, exhaust heat shield, plugs etc have been replaced - thank you Autodoc.es. For the interior I have TEMUed the following: digital speedo, bluetooth stereo, rubber gear lever cover, LED side indicators, dashboard and interior lights, USB sockets, seat covers, bottle holders and black duct tape for bodywork scrapes.
To celebrate this work I have just returned from a Portugal road trip. Garrucha - Albuferia - Lisboa - Porto - Garrucha. 2341kms, 178l gas95, fuel consumption 13.15km/l (in old money 37 UK mpg). It did not use any oil or water (thank you Radweld for stopping the heater matrix dripping), I never even opened the bonnet! Temperatures were in the 30s most days and the aircon remained ice cold. The last day I drove from Porto to home with just three fuel/food stops. 979km in 10h38m.
