To be fair never saw the point in diesels in the Porsche lineup

Reading the article, they’ve not killed the Diesel engines forever, it’s just that the demand is currently not high enough to justify continuing to make them as more people are buying the petrol hybrid models.

A diesel Porsche doesn’t make sense with the likes of the 911, boxster, or cayman but for the cayenne and the macan as well as the Panamera the Diesel engine makes perfect sense as they really are not sports cars. Manufacturers will always follow demand.
