General Popping out of 1st gear.

Hello forum. I have 67. Today, while enjoying a drive, the car popped out of 1st a few times. And there was subsequently som weird ‘clunks’. I stopped and looked under the car…nothing unusual. The suspension is ll new and good.
Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

There was no spring on the clutch lever at the bell housing. Is there always a spring there? Or do some models have no spring?

As far is i know there should always be a return spring
