General Pollen Filter

General Pollen Filter

Yes; the fan switch which has a rotary action to control the fan speed but if you push it in it turns on the a/c if the fan is on. Turn the hot/cold switch to cold as I believe the a/c will not turn on if the heater is on, unless you go to full demist when a/c helps clear condensed water on the inside of the screen.

Do you have the drivers manual? You can download it from the FIAT website.

My car definitely doesn't have air con.

These switches don't push in or pull out. And only illuminate when the headlights are on.

It doesn't have a snowflake on the dial. There is no air con.

OK; forgive me, your last question was is there a pollen filter? Well it looks like someone has put one in there, one of the hex head self tappers is probably missing since its a real pain to get one of the three out due to the steering column and clutch pedal.

Yes there is one of the two screws missing. If I want a replacement what screw do I need?

If there was air con there’s a very obvious ‘dot’ in the fan switch (circled yellow in my photo) which lights up, and the snowflake symbol There is no ‘dot’ or snowflake in Adam’s photo, so (as he says) no air con.

I wonder if someone has added in an un-needed filter to Adam’s car in the past? It’s developing an ‘interesting’ service history :)

Anything that fits! It’s ‘just’ a small, self tapping screw. But if the bottom screw is in, and the top of the cover is sitting correctly (where it’s held by clipping into the main heater unit), you will be ok with the screw half way down being left off.

Ok this is what was behind....
Yeap! That is the filter. I told you, there's no 'standard' thing anymore. Your no AC does have polen filter. To get it out you need to pull it downwards. It should sit in a plastic frame, that should come out too, together with the filter.

One exactly like the one that isn't missing.

No frame came out when i did mine... just the filter. And it came out sideways, not downwards... (note this is a RHD, UK car) https://www.fiatforum.com/threads/changing-the-pollen-filter-my-easy-way.481366/
