Hi everyone, this is my first post so I'm hoping to get some really useful info from you experienced ducato motorhome owners.

I'm trying to replace the pollen filter on my 2005 Swift Kontiki (fiat ducato).

I've looked behind the gloves box and behind the centre console. Definitely not there.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? The owners manual only talks about replacing it but gives no indication where it actually is....

Many thanks in advance.

Gary

Hi Gary,
Welcome to the forum.
My 2006 x244 does not have either aircon, or a pollen filter, but I think that it may have been fitted to some contemporary vehicles.
One confirmation of no pollen filter is the appearance of small items of debris in the ventilation outlets. These items can include fragments of chopped straw or leaves. Perhaps the most intrusive are the small brown silver birch tree seeds.

Hi Communicator, thanks for the reply. Mine also has no aircon so I'm guessing you're right. I can see what looks like a hollow rectangular plastic case, about the right size for the pollen filter i bought, that is sticking down behind the glove box. I can't see any opening for it though so it could be something completely unrelated. I haven't experienced any debris in the vents though and we lived full time in it during 2023 in the US. Ill keep my eyes open whilst I'm servicing it and I may see something else. 🍻 BaggersinSpain.

On reflection I think that I noticed the silver birch seeds? when we had been camping in close proximity to such trees on a Scottish campsite for several days. They probably fell through the external grille. I cannot see any mention of a pollen filter in Fiat eLearn for the x244, but that document is not comprehensive.

I too searched diligently on my 2004 x244 eager to replace my pollen filter. In the end, everything I found online pointed to it not being fitted unless you had AC installed from the factory. (Which I also do not have). If I understand correctly, it would be installed under the exterior vent at the bottom of the windshield. On LH drive it's on the passenger side. Very easy to remove that half of the vent to take a look. I considered trying to fit one just because I like to make more work for myself, but in the end decided against it.

LOL. I'm thinking the same if I don't see it when I check the direct side exterior vent tomorrow. ( typically, I only checked the passenger side earlier as it meant that I didn't need to remove the wipers). Thanks for responding. I'm finding this forum very useful already. 🤛
