PLZ HELP ME!!!!!!

can some1 plz help me.

hi my problem is that when my car gets warm the wheels squeek when i turn the wheel. i was told it was rust on the disks, but there is nothing on them. if any1 has had the same problem can you plz let me know what you did to fix it. thanks

is it whilst you are turning the wheels or whilst they are turned?

do you brake heavily?

do you have uprated disks or pads?

what type of noise is it? like a bike brake squeek or a different one?

is it a constant squeek or intermittent?

does it go away when you start to brake?

does it do it if you bounce the front of the car up and down?


I don't have an answer but these things should help narrow it down.

it is when i turn the wheel and it happens all the time. but it only starts when the car gets warm. it also stops when i touch the brakes (for about a second). the car apart for the look is standard (by the way its a 1.8 hlx, if that makes a difference. im all out of ideas though because i dont know **** about cars. thanks for the reply. buddy

when mine used to squeek i used to strip the pads off and give them a good rub with a bit of wet 'n' dry. They tend to go hard, something to do with not being allowed to put asbestos in em now? lol

not sure if this is the same thing though.

thanks for the advice. i took the pads off and sanded them down with a bit of wet and dry. went for long long drive just to make sure and there was no noise. so like i said thanks for the advice cheers buddy

pads + disks

Hi!

I have a fiat bravo 1.6 sx, ive had the same problem for about a month, it started after heavy breaking one nite after a cruse i looked at my disks....they were red hot and next day worped! whenever i turned the wheel it would make a noise like sandpaper rubbing, just 2 days ago i got both the disks and the breaks changed for new costing a total of £100 all inc. im %90 sure thats ur problem, worped disks and maybe low break pads!
