I have a marea 115 and have 1 brake light out of 3, the top one in the rear window works bit the main 2 don't have checked fuse ok and bulbs ok, scratching my head as not sure how 1 can work without the other.

If there is any one that can help please it would be much appriciated.

Haynes only do (did?) Brava/Bravo manuals and the tailgate is a problem area. For what its worth they are shown splitting 3 ways at a terminal block in the main fuse box, which would mean 3 wires going all the way down the car! No relay shown. If all the other lights work then its not earth. Have you looked at the light bulb socket with a meter or test light?
 
hi, if i was you i would by a cheap 12 volt tester from halfords (under £4),
like a sharp pointed screwdriver to pierce wires to test for voltage and a small crocodile clip to connect to car metal (earth).
have someone press brake pedal & test with the 12v tester, this will iluminate if you have power getting to the lights.
often it can be just a bad contact, but both rear is suspect, but you need to get to the route of the problem by elimination.
