but what may be more telling is terminal speed, cos if you cross line after 16secs at 90ish you know your start sucked, but if you do a 15 at 80ish you get great start but car is tailing off, so gives an indecation of what car is faster in normal cicumstances as drag strips are one offs really.

The uno has a superspring system, the cinq has a performance system. The uno has no cat, the cinq has a de-cat. The uno has an induction kit, the cinq has an induction kit, The Uno DOESNT have an enlarged throttle body, the cinq does. The uno is running approx 0.7/0.8 bar, the cinq is running 0.5 bar. etc

Yes, but the Uno runs MPI whereas the Cinq runs SPI with a 2nd injector from what I remember

As everyone has already said, it's all down to the launch and the gearchange as both cars are evenly matched, with the Cinq possibly having a small advantage due to its power to weight ratio. The Uno's gearbox ratios are better suited for its power, whereas the Cinq gearbox ratios were designed for 55bhp and a car that would top out at 90mph. The UT has more torque, and that can make it easier to keep the power down along the strip.

Also worth bearing in mind that the UT has a split O/S driveshaft to combat torque steer while the Cinq doesn't. That might just be enough to give it an advantage as it should in theory be less likely to want to pull sideways under hard acceleration.

The Cinq is a newer car, and I think Alex's Turbo has done less miles than Chris' UT. That might make a difference possibly, plus of course how well each has been maintained.

I wouldn't want to place my bets as I think it could go either way! But as Beau mentioned it all depends on whether Chris does his infamous 'Bushboy' and sells it 5 minutes before the start of the race
