Ok here they are, it's not pretty...............

The bodywork is pretty typical of a Panda this age and not a problem, it's the interior that doesn't look so good in the daylight. It's badly faded and mouldy, I had thought that the mould could be cleaned off but now I've seen it in the flesh I don't think that's possible :(

Someone posted a mega-picture thread, somewhere, about detailing the most disgusting interior you've ever seen. It was much, much worse than this.... Give me five minutes, and I'll be back...! ;)

Thanks for posting these, though... -- it's quite cute, really! (Just showing its age, like me....) :p

Five minutes later...
Here it is! Be warned, though: there are lots of photographs; and some of them are extremely yucky...!

It was linked to from a thread in the car care section.... Hope it helps....

Get urchin around with his pressure washer, he'll have it good in no time :p

Although in all seriousness, its worrying when even you think something isn't possible Vern :(

Thanks for the vote of confidence Guys. I will have a very good go at the interior when the time comes as ideally the car should all be original.

Thanks for the that link Homeward, I have cleaned interiors like that in the past and it's not that difficult on plastic and leather. I will get something like Sporicidin and see how it does, if I can get rid of the mould I'm sure there must be a way of re-dying the fabric.

One thing's for sure though, this project will go all the way to completion no matter what problems there may be. :slayer:

Sshhh! You'll hurt her feelings:(
Have to say it's the boot floor and seams that would scare me but yes from the originality point of view that interior is a challenge. Seen any pink leather Alfa interiors lately Vern?
Anything happening with donations yet or is Gavin still figuring logistics?

how about getting the hammock retrimmed and some after market seat covers fitted?

Howzabout these...? ;)

Or, more seriously, something along the lines of these...? :)

If we do decide to go for seatcovers, let me know; and I'll quite happily pay for them.... (y)

when i first got talon, he was that dirty inside that i had to strip all the trim out.

i did urchin's method and jetwashed the carpet.. and the whole inside of the car.. i think talon has been fording in muddy welsh streams at some point in its life. it was that bad when i removed the carpet. the seats came up good with washing up liquid and a brush. then again, useing the jetwas on the lowest power setting it just blasted all the muck out of the fabric with no damage.

i did an experiment once on mold to see how well i could remove it. i used a few standard cleaners and i also tried fish tank fungus treatment. that actually worked really well.

but yeah, fantastic little panda that. i do not think that it would take much to sort out the bodywork. really wished i got that old one i use to see on the way to college heh

Thanks for the generous offer Homeward but I don't think aftermarket seat covers are going to cut it for this particular project.

Sorting the interior out is a long way down the line so if we put the feelers out now for original trim we may get lucky.

Andrew, if all else fails leather Alfa seats trimmed in the original colour scheme sounds like a very good plan B.

If we get enough rich people at the final auction they could well be more tempted by plan B anyway, only us poor Panda nuts prefer original.

Gavin has the bank account in hand and will let you all know where to put your money as soon as it's finalised.

:yeah that:

how about getting the hammock retrimmed and some after market seat covers fitted? No one but us knows how it should really look?! :D

We have faith in you VmanC :)

This was the reason I passed on the other pinks....in fact I have seen the attempt cleaning mould in the pinks and it looks impossible because it is a different stain.

Please no seat covers....I feel we must try and get it as original as possible. Chats with good trimmers will have to take place. Not cheap I know. This will get a top price when it comes to auction time.

The trimmer I use is asking around for me, and I'm sure that as we peddle Pinky around the shows we'll meet plenty of experts to ask. :)

Snap - exactly the conversation Vernon & I had earlier.

Plan A is to somehow find new, restore, make, or whatever the original seat covers - cost will have no real bearing on it, bearing in mind the charity sale plan.

Plan B would be a matching leather set - I hope we don't need to resort to this - got a year or so to get plan A sorted!

There isn't a plan C - it can't have seat covers, full stop! (y)
