Oh it drove there all right, which is more than I can say for Barbara's 4x4 :bang:.
We got to within two miles of the venue and pulled in to the pub car park where we were meeting Kev and Heike, before I even got into a parking space it stalled and would not re start. It had been misfiring for the last ten miles, it appears the distributor starts to pack in once it heats up. We left it there for the day and let Pinky take the honours :), and when we went back for it it was fine again, but only completed the journey home by keeping the choke out a little.

Ah well, I wanted to do this show as a bit of a test run before the NEC, just as well, we stand a chance of getting there now. Pinky is in no doubt :worship:

Mods please note: I need a 'I feel your pain ouch' button for this post.

congrats and commiserations Vernon:confused:

Thanks John, but not really unhappy with the day. Out of the two I'd rather Pinky won something. If B's Panda had got there it may have split the vote and let the runner up Range Rover win.

Only got one pic of the day. If you're wondering why Kev's superb Bianca didn't win anything it's because Kev took B's entry ticket so wasn't entered as a proper entrant. The Bianca is an 80's car so wouldn't have been in the same category as Pinky.

Only one pic of the day...........

And here's the proof.......

I will send you a pic of my face!....:D

Great day in the sun and really good to meet up with Vern and Barbara... Glad you made iy home ok...(y)

Good to meet up with you both too! Thanks for your help today Kev, and thanks for helping me to fulfil a long held desire of mine.

Must go, checking out Ebay for E types. ;)

What was the advert for?

EDIT:

It's ok I've found it!

What a coincidence you should spot that!

I edited my original post, I didn't think it was right to randomly post your house.

To make sure Pinky remains mobile if the weather turns bad I've let him borrow some winter boots. :).....

They're Avon M+S 155/70/13's. They were fitted to wheels that were even blacker than the originals, as I wasn't happy with them either I've also let him borrow some hub caps too, just until I can give him some silver ones. He can't have his newly refurbed wheels until the restoration begins so I plan to roughly paint the originals silver until then. I just don't like black wheels (n)

So here's his new very temporary look.........

Brilliant...!

That reminds me: skimming through the latest edition of Practical Classics (which landed on my mat, earlier today...), I caught something about a Pink Car Rally for young cancer sufferers.... Was too tired to take it in at the time; but a quick Google, just now, has found this site -- which may help.

Sorry if this is old news -- it just struck me as something that Pinky might want a go at...! (y)

Thanks for that. I got my copy this morning too but have only looked at the NEC show write up to see if Pinky was mentioned, he wasn't. (n)

Will have a look through as it's deffo something Pinky should take part in.

...it's the interior that doesn't look so good in the daylight. It's badly faded and mouldy, I had thought that the mould could be cleaned off but now I've seen it in the flesh I don't think that's possible...

I think I've found Perky -- who is exactly a year younger than my son... -- or maybe even a donor for the upholstery....

Three teensy-weensy problems: :(

  1. The car has done a heckuva lotta miles.
  2. I couldn't see a photograph of the front seats.
  3. It's a million miles away (or may as well be...).
Blast. :bang:
