Panda (Classic) PiNK Panda Auto Trader £350

I seem to remember Jon saying he bought it for £350 just over a year ago. So is our Pinky the one you went to look at Kev?

The last one I saw had dents..one was in the top of the rear quarter above the pink logo...Im sure I remember someone on here went on to buy it after I walked away from the sale. I'm also sure they went on to buy another one soon after, saying they might combine the two.

So PINKY is the one you rejected just over a year ago! Well at the moment Kev, With a bid of £2,000, you're highest bidder. ;)

By the time it's finished though we can can hardly say it's the same car.

Pinky looks like she's enjoying herself! Good to see she's getting a run out.
What is that sticker on the back of the foreign pink? Looks like a cross between a whale and an aeroplane?? Very strange, can't be from the factory surely!?

It looks more like the pink paint has peeled off to reveal original blue underneath. It can't be that if the side has the same on it though, so it must be a flying whale as you say - maybe the one from HitchHikers Guide if anyone knows what I'm rambling about!! :)

Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was Oh no, not again. Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now.

Used to listen to this on the radio, under the bedclothes, a long, long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away...)! Ah, the (off-topic) memories! :)

Looks like some sort of 'plane, to me, by the way....

The dent was big, so I think you would have spotted it! Must be the other one.

Pinky's got loads of dents on the n/s/r wing, all do-able during the bodywork part of the restoration though :).

I think the hole in the boot and the mouldy interior confirms it. As it had that hole in the boot back then it must have gone through the last mot with it too!

On the way to the workshop this morning I stopped at the village shop, PINKY wanted to park outside the house next door for some reason.

Also, while looking for info I came across this Panda Pink with a different sticker to ours, the same image is on the rear wing too.

I also found that they were sold in other countries, Italy and Germany at least, and this seems to be the sticker they used.

Found this too.....

Done a couple of jobs today to make sure Pinky can get to the car shows ok over the next couple of weeks.

Points were set miles out! it ran well on a drive but had a lumpy tickover and would run on sometimes when switched off. Re-set the dwell angle and ign. timing, now all is well.

The rear view mirror was losing it's reflective coating so I've swapped it for another I had.

Barbara will probably drive this to the next couple of shows, more her colour :p, but Panda seat belts tend to cut into her neck so I've moved the top mounting point down to the lower setting.

The seat belt buckle wouldn't hold the belt all the time, plus both orange buttons were faded anyway, so I've replaced them with some spares.

That should do for now, except that when I went to go home I found the wipers stopped working :(. Three steps forward, one step back = two steps forward. Progress I suppose .

Picked up the sump guard etc from the powder coaters today (Barbara's 4x4), actually they're an alloy wheel refurb company, I told them about Pinky and asked if they'd like to sponsor him/her/it by refurbing the wheels. Well they were more than happy to offer their services free of charge ( would normally be £250 ) :), so big thanks to Steve and Simon of Alloy Care Centre, Passfield, Hampshire. (y)

How did that happen?

sympathy vote perhaps?

amazed it drove to the show?

bribed the judges?

all of the above? :D

Oh it drove there all right, which is more than I can say for Barbara's 4x4 :bang:.
We got to within two miles of the venue and pulled in to the pub car park where we were meeting Kev and Heike, before I even got into a parking space it stalled and would not re start. It had been misfiring for the last ten miles, it appears the distributor starts to pack in once it heats up. We left it there for the day and let Pinky take the honours :), and when we went back for it it was fine again, but only completed the journey home by keeping the choke out a little.

Ah well, I wanted to do this show as a bit of a test run before the NEC, just as well, we stand a chance of getting there now. Pinky is in no doubt :worship:
