Fiat Bravo 1.8GT (HLX), '96, 130.000 Km.

What could be the reason for knocking from engine, except poor fuel octane number?

Best regards, Misa.

crankshaft bearings?, small end bushes? Big ends? Hard to tell without hearing it

When I wrote Knocking, I think about fuel/air mixture detonating in cylinder. Knocking sensor suppresses those in some extent but far from enough. Something is wrong.

Previously when I drove my 1.8 Brava, I had this problem i.e. pinging. I was on Shell V-Power and when I changed to other fuel the symptoms went away. The other fuel was from Petronas.

High Inlet Temperature
Too Much Spark Advance
Poor Fuel Quality
High CR
Too Much Turbo Boost
Bad Combustion Chamber Design
Carbon Build Up/Hot Spots
Engine Overheating
Incorrect Heat Range of Spark Plugs
Lean AFR

In the Bravo is standard inlet box and panel filter, outer air temperature was about 32-33 Celsius.
Can't adjust spark advance, completely controlled by engine electronic
Fuel quality is not so good, but other cars don't have same problem
Compression ratio is 10:1
No turbo
Chamber design, well, other Bravos don't have same problem
Carbon Build Up/Hot Spots, it is possible. I can tray to clean it
Engine is on the normal running temperature and fan was activated as should. Actually, pinging can be heard before car reached running temperature.
Spark Heat Range is correct
Lean AFR, I checked the spark plugs and lambda sensor and colour is correct. I did not find air leak

I wasn't talking abour YOUR car i was talking in general. If modding an engine things to look out for to prevent det.
