Is that the magical (Harry Potter) Expecto Petronas oil?
I put 5W50 Valvoline racing oil in mine instead of the Selenia (petronas) 10W50 that the Abarth expected. Simply unavailable or silly prices (€35 for 2 litres).

Ive spent the morning attempting to figure all this out..
Halfords dont sell Selenia the FIAT focussed Petronas brand
ECP recommend 3 different grades.. 5 brands and a scattergun of additive spec
Petrons say 'Selenia only' for my twinair
Opie oils show just 1 spec..and 3 brands ( they dont list any Petronas..)
So I am going for the Millers they list.. but bought via Ebay ad.

Fiat have been consistent in specifying C3 on VVT and latter engines
Which is strange as it’s normally for DPF cars.
No idea why.
I never over worry about oil grade. But if you push it too far after a spell at high revs the P0011 code will come up.

Both by design and due to errors
I was looking for a clutch and price depending on which trim level you entered. The higher trims drop the cheaper clutch brands which in my book is deliberate
Look at the owners manuals for the gearbox oils from 2004-2011 there’s at least 3 listed. I suspect they negotiate a cheap deal on baulk and just list that for all cars. Its not only gone up but up an down in specs. So listing 3 different grades for a 169 and I doubt the year and reg are that relevant to ECP system
The owner manual is my base line and try to get close to it at a reasonable price
But don’t over worry being a small percentage out

I cannot recommend steering clear of this stuff more strongly. Get a sensible brand and save your engines! I cannot believe how bad it is in comparrison to european brands!!!
Pretty sure the owns manual has only ever specified a C3 oil since the VVT. Introduction

AFter my experience with Petronas and seeing the state of the oil and hearing the terrible clatter on start up I won't entertain it with the possible exception of the TA but as Castrol is available I will probably defer to that. After 1700 miles in the 1.2 it came out as thin as water and looking like liquid rust, Not recommended by P Nut Esq.!
I find it strange that the petrol has a higher spec or more additives than the diesel depending how you look at it

Depending how you look at it..
There is only 1 diesel build.. (1248cc)
but 2.. 875cc and 1242cc petrol
No multiair in Europe..??

The twinairs are Punto euro5 +Panda euro6.. so thats 3 different oil specs

It the same in the later Panda 169 2009-2012 manual which never had the twin air
