I really regret buying this stilo, nothing but trouble, it smells of petrol on start up but worse of all, the brake lights stay on??????????? please help
petrol smell could be a leak. need some more info really.
does it smell of petrol only when its been stood for a while?
is it smelling of petrol on any start up?
can you smell it after a while and the car is stood still?
can you smell it before starting the car?
is the smell under the bonnet?
thanks, does it have to be a fiat dealer? do i ask for a brake light switch for a 52 plate 1.6 stilo, and they should know exactly what i need? what about halfords? just coz they are open on a sunday!
the petrol fault, it only smells on start up i couldnt say it smells very time, maybe it does and i just dont smell it? its rarely left longer than 1 day

found the fault with the break light, it wasnt coming up enough to shut it off!! a peice of paper placed between the pedal and the switch and it works!!!!!!!!
yes thanks, i get the feeling it aint running quite right, i think the smell of petrol on start up has sommut to do with it, cannot see any evidence of a leak
the brake lights might not be to do with the switch, some idiot who changed mine didnt replace with a double fillament meaning my brake lights only stayed on and i never got a brighter light when brakeing, meaning the bulb fault light on and thinking both were out
im not sure, cannot put my finger n it, it just doesnt seem right, i feel it should be quicker, and smoother, for a 1.6 youve got to push it to get it to go, maybe im use to m deisel and not used to revving high???
