http://www.altenzo.co.uk/SportsComforter.html anyone know anything about these? they Give themselves an A A rating. But Designed And Engineered In Australia, can Australians be trusted :chin:

Yeh - & Lambrini is an Italian wine (?)

Altenzo have been commented on before.
It looks to me like a Chinese tyre badged-up as Australian.
They’re using the US NHTSA ratings & slapping them on a EU style label for the gullible &/or half-asleep.
There are only 4 NHTSA traction ratings (AA, A, B & C) & only 3 NHTSA temp ratings (A, B & C) – but they’ve stretched them out to 7 (A to G) to fit the EU style labels.
The misinformation is being carried-over by some of their eBay distributors.

I tried to get a look at one in my local Halfords, to check-out the DoT code for country of origin – but they didn’t have stock.

Just a quick update on how the new 195 50 15 82H Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 feel...

First thing I noticed was ride quality. Sharp stutter bumps are much less transferred to the cabin.
Steering response is sharper than Hankook 4S and Goodyear EG.
The slightly snaked, floaty feel you can get by moving the steering side to side a bit (at speed 70+) is gone too.

Overall very pleased.

One question. Is a tyre with H rating lighter than V rated (assuming same size and model)?

Sometimes the difference is nothing more than a change of compound, or indeed no change at all. Glad you like them, I wouldn't be without summer tyres.

Thanks. Could have got the V's a few quid cheaper but stuck with H just in case V's came out heavier.

According to this police test report (courtesy of Caravodossi) Pirelli state that there's an extra belt for the higher speed rating so that would mean a slightly higher weight.
Did you manage to weigh them before getting them fitted and have you noticed any difference in mpg ?
Did notice on the contis that the H were slightly dearer as well which might come down to the V being cheaper since they're sold in higher numbers. Imagine that the ride on a H would be slightly better than a stiffer walled V rated tyre.

Sorry, didn't get to weigh them but they did feel a bit lighter than the Hankook 4S.
Not noticed any difference in mpg but only done a 150ish miles. mpg may be worse now as 195 instead of 185 and the Michelins score a pretty poor rolling resistance rating. E or F I think!
The ride quality was the biggest shock. Didn't notice the difference form the EG' to the 4S but the Michelins are amazing quality ride.
Would love to experience these tyres with Bilies B14 kit : )

I wouldn't be too sure that the PS3's are better than the PE2's. The PE2's were fitted as standard to things like the Renaultsport Clio and I think they're also the standard tyre on the Esseesse wheels which says a lot.

Would be interesting to compare. I'll ask tire shop next time I pass by and if anyone has any feedback over comparing the two, please share!

The last person you want to ask is a tyre fitter. How often do you think someone pops in and goes ".... you know those PS3's you fitted to replace the PE2's I had previously? Well they're fantastic! They grip in the wet and are predictable in the dry....."

Never ask a tyre fitter for advice on tyres..... have you ever seen a tyre fitter change the tyres on a car and go out for a drive to see what they're like? ;)
