hi guys as you can see im new to the forum and im on my second cinq sporting :) first was a yellow early model and now have a purple 97 version , i have been searching threads looking how to get abit more from the 1.1 engine without spending to much and without replacing with the bigger engine, it already has k&n on it and will be getting an exhaust soon but cant seem to find an upto date thread on the chip and price and where to get one from any help would be great (y)
i know there won't be alot of difference withthe mods i have planned but just want it abit quicker:D
looking at getting a cam from ebay when one comes up but which one would be best for 97 sporting

any help and advice would be great and thanks in advance :worship:

Cheapest cam will be from Punto 75. You need to reset the valve clearances to P75 specs.

Ditch the K&N.

PM McKritch or gazzaman2k for chips.

cheers for the reply (y) i have also been looking at a 1742 8v punto 60 from a 98 s reg with 55k on the clocks which came out of a rear end shunt which i can get for cheap  but not sure i want to go that far

as its a lot of work and most my time goes on my other car which i take to shows and on the track which i have built all my self over 3 years :D
and the fiat is my little run around and work car so think i will look in to chip etc.. first i think (y)

The 1242 is a good conversion, search the guides and you'll find its almost a straight swap, bar a spacer for the exhaust.

The additional torque is very beneficial.

Its probably an easier job than fitting a P75 cam.

Hello mate

i have done both changing the chip on my 1.1 cinq and adding a 1242. The chip i used was a mckritch chip which i still use now on my 1242 and when i had it on my 1.1 it made a difference and well worth doing, however to get the most of it i changed my Throttle body to a larger size and added the usual mod i.e mild cam, exhaust, air filter etc and was very fun to drive. However when i put a 1242 with all the above that put even a bigger grin on my face and was easy to do, so i would consider this in the future. what ever way you go i am sure you will enjoy the improvement.
