last night my gearbox went again so ive had enough of throwing money at her and not being able to do anything myself. so my question is, how much would i get for it sold as seen?

spec is

99 T 1.2
89,000 miles
bodywork isnt immaculate but not awful
17" lenso evo 11 alloys, both passenger side wheels have slight curbing. front 2 tyres need replacing
lowered 25mm on a full spax suspension kit
marea poly elliptical headlights
interior has been tweeked with a marea centre console, sprayed black with the smooth plastic body coloured, and suede trimmed arm rest. dash trimmed with suede either side of the centre, which is body coloured
3 day old front discs and pads, got 95 miles on them, and once towed home from work will be 100.

bad bit is obviously the gearbox and clutch need replacing, but last time around it only cost me £250 the lot and did it with a mate, so this would be considered. also the front section of the exhaust is blowing, but part from the scrap yard is only £30

so, whats the dammage??? how much will i be able to get as is??

Not to sound like a vulture andy, but would you be interested in parting with your marea headlamps for my standard lights and some dolar?

I'd say around £1600 with the Gearbox not fixed chap. mine has the usual cf2 1.2 gearbox problems that yours has but mine still hasn't given up yet. think mine just needs stripping and 2 new syncro's fitting though.

If you are putting back to standard all bar the suspension and new discs etc, realistically more like 800 TOPS! Dan, you were only after 1850 and yours is newer etc.

yes, I guess your right.

but then I'm an optimist.

Best bet is to look on autotrader andy and check around your area ~ 60miles and see what the norm is and then subtract for the GB issues..

there must be something wrong elsewhere m8 it shouldnt keep chewing gear boxes like it is even for a 1.2

yer... its called andy left hand/arm!!!

im suprised the right pedal hasn't gone through the bulk head yet either!! ;)

See this is the problem with these little 1.2 boys.... they have to beat their cars up, just to keep up with everything else on the road! :)

I do recall tho, grandad Wimmy didn't seem to have these problems....... Andy you must admit, your gear changes aren't the smoothest.......

As for the car.... with a duff box... only some1 who has a bravo will be interested... cos every1 else will just walk away for the money you want.

If you got a new box on it, then you could charge the proper price and sell it loads quicker!

just my thoughts.... btw.. im still slightly pissed off with ya.... but im mellowing slightly :p :p ;)

I'm sorry to have to say this, but you'll be lucky to get £400 for it.

I hope I'm wrong though...........

tommy i think you will find wimmy had 3 gear boxes on his 1.2 in the time he had it but then you havent been on the forum that long.

ok ive made a decision, im going to fix it then sell it.

how much do you think id be able to sell for with a bloing front pipe (can be sorted at a scrappy) will also get a new coil pack.

will have standard head lights and possibly Smee's alloys depending on what i get next, got a few options depending on how much i can sell mine for

Selling a car privately with faults shouts out "not looked after".

Get all the bits and bobs fixed, then sell it.

That's what I would do.
