I just thought id let you all know i've priced up a few parts that iv'e got my eye on, one is the thermostat, as i drove it at the weekend noticed she was running a bit cool even on the motorway so i think its stuck open, i got my thermostat off the spare engine, (yet again) and it worked ,put it in a bowl of boiling water and the valve opened but i'm unsure if i'l use it as looks a bit rough!, and the other is the gearchange, when changing the new clutch and lightened flywheel on sunday i had a good check around inc all ancilliaries and noticed the gear selection bars that run near the turbo are a bit worn resulting in a slacker gear change feeling, anyway they are a whopping £37 notes each so i'l be looking in the breakers me thinks, are they the same as any other uno eg normal aspirated uno, 2 long bars with balljoints on the ends with 10mm nuts, i could probably get them made special cheaper Ant!

Oh!! thermostat is £24 inc gasket from main dealer, i'm trying to find it cheaper but proving fruitless apart from this one from redmist racing, he has a load of bits all the time but some very high prices, i informed him hes asking nearly 3 times as much. If anyone has a good set of linkage bars or newish thermostat let me no cheers Ant! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-uno-turb...DVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260007458761

I'm going to try my local motorfactors as well, its the bars that are a main dealer part! i sent red mist a message and he said he didn't think they were available anymore hence the price!!!! Ive actualy got a prob with my german at the mo! theres a little valve in the fuel tank above the lift pump that is no longer available apart from the whole unit nearly £200, good job i won the whole sender on ebay £8.34 to the door, god shines on Ant! thank you lord!!!

I can but i ain't paying over £70 for the pleasure I'm going to sea if i can find some on another uno but as there all 1.1s i dont think there the same but i reckon the 1.4 standards and the diesel are good, they look like a few ive sen on other cars so i might modify them from another car to suit. and i think i'l sneak the diesel engine mounts while i'm at it, i was also looking to fit a larger servo like you but they are shoehorned into the uno bulkhead and i'm finding it hard to mate them up but i will sort it just keep searching, the fiat dealer i use is fiat caledonia in salford I used to work with them all at dc cook years ago, iv'e been offered a job at stoneacre maybe baby!!!!! at least i'l get cheaper bits Ant!

antsuno2, sorry it's taken me a long time to see this thread :(

I made up replacements for those gearchange links. I just went to a bearing shop and asked for 'rod ends'. They have an M8 internal thread, so you just get M8 threaded bar and a couple of 13mm nuts as locknuts. The spindle has an M6 thread (10mm nut) so it all fits perfectly. Fully adjustable, and since they have rubber boots, they'll probably last longer than the originals!

Cost was low-moderate.

Cheers,
-Alex
