If anyone could advise, it would be greatly appreciated. So my stop brake light came on, got a new bulb to replace it, and now my stop brake light works but the taillight doesn't now, and I now get the Parking Light symbol on dashboard. Checked the fuses, everything is good on that end, and it's weird cuz the tail light sort of comes on when you play around with the switch for lights which is odd. Any suggestions as to how to fix the issue? Do I just need to get a dealership bulb instead of bulbs from O'reillys'?

Hello,

Those bulbs have three types of mount:

The socket is adapted to one of the type only. Then, the middle and the right one bulb will fit only in one way. And that's why it was designed that way.

The bulb has to be positionned correctly, then pushed and turned clockwise in order to lock in place.

It is possible you've put the bulb the wrong way, or not locked.

It could also be that one of the contacts on the bottom of the socket was bent over the usual position and there's not enough contact to get it lit.

I assume the dashboard light can be caused by the bad contact or wrong positionning of the bulb.

hey thanks for the advice I will def try this when I get home this evening

So I tried everything…and the tail light just won’t come on. When I turn the ignition on, it will flash for a second and then won’t turn on. The brake light works, however. I don’t know what to do now?

Hi,

Another favorite from FIAT of old was to use "unusual" wattage bulbs,

Putting a "standard" replacement bub in would result in the Yellow dash warning

As a "zero-cost" test:

Swap the bulbs from the left unit (that works), into the right unit

Does the fault travel, or remain on the same side..? 🤔

The other common issue is that unplugging the light unit for access can result in patchy connectivity (did you physically unplug the lamp unit from the loom?)

Were you able to identify which type of bulb you had originally and which one you've bought?

Hey so it ended up being the wrong bulb, despite the auto shop guy saying the bulb would work. It’s back to working thank y’all for the advice 🙏🙏🙏
