I'm pretty sure the red rocketship is Xsisleys, and that it had a turbocharged 1242cc 16v at one stage, the two bonnet scoops at the front on each side were for the oil coolers. It went bang! :(

The new engine looks like a good idea though, should be as reliable as the donor and fast as f##k! Needs an anti-roll bar tho (not that I'm becoming obsessed with them!!:eek:).

I hope someone off here gets it and does as Jon suggests with the bodywork and turns it back into a sleeper...

It is Xsisley's indeed. May not have an anti-roll bar, but it has stiffer springs and uprated dampers that would have more effect than an anti-roll bar on a standard car for preventing roll I would suspect.

At the moment it is a good price for the parts, no matter what you think of the implementation. If it stays this cheap, I will buy for spares. Anyone else planning a bid?

My brother is toying with the idea but he won't be bidding until the last moment so I'll see how it goes and let you know... (he probably won't knowing him but it is a nice idea!! No offence Mark:))

I reckon you are probably right about the anti-roll bar, I'm not obsessing, honest!! :eek:

I might be interested but it depends what will be the price for Xsisley's 16V Panda and/or if there will any chance to get 'greenfiz' gearbox and other parts from purple haze (it's better version)...so I'm also going to wait 3days...
I've emailed 'Sergio Tacchini' Panda and it's 5 gears so it would good for me...then I can give rest for somebody else:)

If you are bidding on the tacchini, I would definitely stick some in the pot for the interior. Mine's got odd bits missing and a drivers seat with less than half the bum mileage of mine would be fab(y)

To break it for the gearbox seems to be a bit shortsighted to me... What else is wrong with it and should it be saved?! If it would only take minimal work to fix it then braking it for parts ain't too far short of Mongol rally territory :(... I mean no offence but there are few enough of them left (especially special editions; you wouldnt see anyone breaking a Sisley for the doors let alone upholstery).

I'm sure you can get a 5 spd gearbox without breaking that one...

This is a plea for clemency!!! :)

Kev, give him the gearbox from the fizz and save the Tacchini!! You know it makes sense!!:D

I agree. It only sounds like in needs a bit of welding :rolleyes: - Famous last words.
I'd get it, but unfortunatly I have too many projects and no space left, plus I don't think my friend would be too happy if I dumped another car in her back garden :D

100% agree with you !! I don't want to kill her...she so nice inside...I just didn't want to let seller send her to some scrap yard...
Anyway I had to change my plans and I need to go home for week and I'm not sure if I got time to get her....so
AT THE MOMENT if anybody else would like to save her - please do it!! :)
PS
Seller said that gearbox is OK (but one of the gaskets is perished so leeks oil a little bit) - tax runs out at the end of February so still ok to drive!!
 
The fizz gearbox still has your name on it Jangcy....(y)

No way should the Sergio be used as spares!!! To rare!!!! Im feeling guilty about the fizz..if it was the sergio i would expect a lynch mob to turn up at the door..

Thank you...I'm still thinking about Xsisley's Panda....as there is most done what I was going to do...but there ware some treads about his problems with that engine (1.4 with 1.2 ECU and injectors) and I'm not sure how it works now...anyway I'll wait and see if price is OK or if it's to high for me...

Definitely would need to sort out new fueling to get near the power claims, help the lumpy startup and prolong life of engine.
 
I could even take her (it's close to me:) and get het back on the road...it's great to have got Panda without cat and emissions worries every year but I live in flat so no place to keep it....I need to use my job back yard which is not comfortable for me:(....
