General panda multijet2

Thinking about the new panda 1.3 2, but can't find any of you with one, you in the main have gone for the TA, guess it's the road tax in UK, i was wondering if the multijet 2 is more economical over the 1, i have had mine since 2005 with the skydome roof and love it here in Spain, I fitted it with a Tunningbox chip and can see most cars off, but i see the 2013 is not available with 5 seats and glass roof, i can only guess it's due to the 5th seat belt position.

I suspect this is due to no huge benefit in price for diesel in the UK. Diesel is more expensive and the purchase price of the car is also much more expensive. I bought the 1.2 add us in would have loved the extra power and economy but it would have cost me much more over the period of planned ownership (3 years).

I like the Multijet 1.3 having previously owned an Alfa Mito with the 95HP
version of that engine, but when I test-drove a 4x4 Twinair Panda I found
it such fun I was happy to go for the twin for my Trekking

I don't do enough mileage to justify the better fuel economy of the diesel,
and it's good to avoid possible DPF problems in the future. My Alfa averaged
62MPG fuel economy over its 20,000 miles, so far the Panda is doing about
55MPG which is better than I'd been expecting

I like sunroofs, but the Trekking's standard roof rails mean it's not on the
options list However, IMHO the large windows make up for that!

I've had a MJ 4x4 since March. Great, torquey little engine with good fuel economy.

I do miss the 6th gear on motorways but all in, for what I use it for (Cornish roads/off road), I'm glad I plumped for the diesel.

I test drove the TA and concluded I'd thrash it (was a lot of fun).
