Thing is, as this is a new unit am i right in thinking it would be covered by a new 12 month warranty, if so are Fiat liable to replace it for a further 12 months?

I have a problem with this aswell,if it has already been replaced then its not covered for 12months...which seems bit strange to me:confused: There is abit of confusion over this part of warranty...if I find out exactly i'll post it up.

I had this same problem, and I fixed it for under £10.
Buy a Draper 3mm Car Automotive Fuse Adaptor Test Leads for Multimeter Adapting from eBay. £6
Buy a switch. £2
Take radio out of dash ( you need 4 bits of stiff wire or a special tool )
Pull main fuse out of back of radio.
Replace with Fuse Adaptor.
Route test leads behind dash - this is the difficult part !
Connect switch to leads.

Now when you want the radio to be really off, you can just switch off with new switch.

Welcome,

I have taken the cassette radio out of mine and replaced witha sony cd/mp3/radio only cost about £50 new ( mine was out of my punto )
it probably needs radio changing

Hi, as said a decent quality one is relatively cheap..esp this time of year..!!,

beware of them fitting a different USED FIAT unit , as the CODE for security is stored in the Cars "body-computer" , and a "foreign" fiat one can be a pain - as it may call for the CODE every time you turn it on ..,
if they can't fix it easily I would just ask for £60 back and buy what YOU fancy..!!,
Charlie

Hi thanks for that, I will watch for that as they are going to change it on Monday for me, as the one at the moment has just gone mad, it's just kept turning on 5 times on New Year's Eve, so New Year's Day went to Halfords and they took it out for me, at last roll on Monday

All the best from JPR

That were me. JVC MP3 unit and adaptor. Still delighted with it.

Pics on here somewhere..

uh,here ya go.

Hi there, do you have the eleganza or 100hp with audio buttons on the steering wheel?

In running a Sony mex-4200bt head unit

I bought an adapter that's meant to make them work but the pins in the (blue green yellow plug in the car) are in the same place as the adaptor
