The alternative is double-sided sticky tape - my 100HP's four and a bit years old and this has worked so far on the back plate - no risk of holes being drilled. Not so great on the front where I had to strip the existing sticky bits off after about three years and replace them - still best method I think if garages can't be trusted to use existing fixing holes.

Does look smart in Orange

Make sure they attach the rear number plate using the 4 point, and don't just drill 2 holes through the metal work with self tappers like they often do (n)

They used double sided foam pads on mine which suits me fine :)
philboo , your car looks awesome!! Great choice on the rear tints! Totally sets it off.

Thank you as ever :)

I have asked they either use the correct fiat 4 mount points, double sided pads or don't fit it if they are unable to do those and I will fit it myself carefully.

I will be disappointed if they ignore me. I don't think I'd reject it though. Can't wait another 4 months.

Dension USB/MP3/Bluetooth adaptor FREE to good home

Hello fellow forum members (especially new Panda 4x4 ones

I am P/X ing my 59 plate Panda 1.2 Eleganza tomorrow when I pick up my 4x4 panda. As a result I've removed the Dension USB/MP3/Bluetooth adaptor I've been using happily.

It's only 6 months old and cost £105

This is a link to a shop selling the same item (hope this is ok to link to them)

I'm posting this here as all you new 4x4 owners and soon to be owners have all been great while I've been waiting (I don't know what I'd have done without you all to chat about the wait, colour, options, etc) and I think I should return the favour to forum members.

So, if you'd like my adaptor for free (no catch, I've just the one) you can have it.

I can only say first come first served, but please only say you want it if you really want it and have a use for it. I could sell, but as I say, it's a thank you from me to to the forum.

I was wondering if anyone has experience of the blue&me system. I have ordered a new 4x4 with the predisposition for it but do not know if its worth paying for the live version over the non-live.....any thoughts appreciated. :)

Just to confirm, the Trekking does have the auto lock feature but that section of the menu cannot be accessed with the engine running.

My average mpg is getting better all the time for my daily commute (5 miles). Started off around 42 ish and now it's at 50. The car in eco mode is feeling much better now too and I rarely turn it off for the majority of the journeys I do. I did a long-ish journey from MK to Peterborough and back a couple of weeks ago and this made a big difference. Seemed to loosen everything up quite a bit. Got used to the noise of the twin now too :)

With the engine running or the car moving? WIll normally lock out 95% of the menu with the wheels moving on most Fiat models, but will allow entry if engine running but car stationary.

I've got it, and use it mostly as a trip computer as I know where I'm going. It's also handy to to use as a music library controller.

I thought you could only get the live version in the UK?

Most probably just when the car is moving then. Didn't check with the engine running whilst stationary to be honest. Trying to save on fuel ;)

Aerial Too Long:confused:
My wife is very pleased with her new orange 4x4 but we can't get in the garage unless to aerial is removed, too long! We have ordered the short aerial from fiat accessories and await its delivery in a day or two. I would be interested to know whether others have had the problem. Why don't Fiat fit the shorter aerial as standard.
Will give feed back later as to reception etc.

Now status 16...

Lets hope they actually decide to build it this time :bang:

I know I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here, but given there are definitely UK cars now built with all the options I ticked, is a May delivery realistic? I'm looking to borrow my Mrs' car for Le Mans this year, but I think she'll only accept a Panda 4x4 as 'collateral' :D

Hello. Finally collected my car this evening. I won't go on and on but a stressful experience when the dealer called at 3 to say the car had some damage and I wouldn't be able to collect it.

Said I'd go after work to see the damage.

By the time I arrived they'd managed to get the dent removed (which they had obviously made an effort to get done as when they called they said he could only come on Monday).

In fairness to the dealer they'd even attached the number plate correctly.

I can see no trace of the dent.

I'll take some more photos tomorrow. Just wanted to give an update.

One thing I did notice my rear parcel shelf doesn't have any strings but does have some rubber and plastic clips. But looking at a panda at the dealers the rear shelf has some grommets in the edge which the string passes through. Mine doesn't have any holes or any grommets. I wondered if this is because I've the two seat rear seat option. Anyway. Least of my problems after the day I've had.
