A couple of quick pics, let me know if you want to see anything else!

Lots more pics please! (y)

I'd like to see the interior contrasting with the black - doors open taken from the outside or something. The last black & orange I saw was the stripes & piping on a black 127 Sport - in theory it sounds bad, but in practice it can be great.

I'm not by any means a fan of the looks of the new model, though the TA 4x4 appeals as a car, but I think it looks best in dark colours and yours sounds like a great combination.

I popped into Westover FIAT Salisbury today to pick up a brochure for the Panda / 4x4: At least if I can't have the car, i can flick through some nice pictures and imagine what it will be like :). Anyhow, it is still a status 13 and their other customer who has ordered the same rear seat option is in the same boat! I noticed they still have their green diesel demonstrator car and while i was there, i saw a customer in a nice new 13 plate green 4x4 as well - so they are trickling through down South as well...

Westover is a mixed franchise dealership, they also sell Renault and Dacia from the other side of the same showroom: Perhaps to cheer me up the dealer told me that for folk who have ordered a Dacia they can't get them any information on where their cars are in the build process!

Two interesting things I did note: They have installed an electric charging point - presumably for Twizzies and the like and their forecourt was teeming with new Clios which i think look rather good. Plenty of 500s as well, but hardly any Pandas  For a car that gets a 4.5 star Autocar rating, you really would think there would be more of them about by now...

Hang on a moment, I'm sure he did say 13 this morning - which is better than the 10 I heard before! :):)

Must be something to do with it being a sunny day :)

Had another drive of the 4x4 today in White and think I can live with the lawnmower engine sound.

Could not find any way to 'auto-lock' the doors whilst driving along - is this possible? I know my Punto auto-locks the doors when I reach 10mph and I can lock them manually - which I would always do when driving in a city.

Disappointed that can't have sunroof

Think I'm probably going to order the Trekking in Green. Any tips on what options to go for and what to avoid?

I was considering a Renault Zoë before I bought my panda.
I was put off by the battery lease programme. What happens if you want to sell the car but still have 18 months lease left.

Also, all reviews of electric cars never show exactly how much electricity kw/h you need to charge them.
on a positive note, I see that now you're getting a free wall mounted charger installed at home when you buy one.

It may have worked out for me? Too late though, i have the Panda now and don't regret it one bit.

Good to see your car is moving up the delivery list again :)

As per their information pack it can be passed onto the new owner iirc

That's good then.

I'm off topic here, but I'm really interested in electric cars.
Give another 15 years and they'll be mainstream I reckon.

We've got solar on the roof, so could have worked well for us.

I would have liked to go full eco style and get ground source heat pump for heating/cooling, and disconnect our gas supply. Pellet burner for hot water.
Our house is an old one though, so it's impractical.

My mates just building a new house and I'm doing my best to get him to go renewable energy for everything. It's the future :yum:

That's funny. I was exactly the same. Renault kept pushing the release back which put me off and then the amount they said I'd have to pay per month for an 18000 mile battery lease was £133 a month or something. They also quote 'pence to charge' but that isn't true. I think it'd be more like a couple of pounds which adds up when you include the lease.

For me the real range in winter was the nail in the coffin as I do 78 miles round trip with no charging points anywhere near work. So I went for the 4x4 panda as that was also joint top in my choices.

I was annoyed as work just announced free parking for electric cars and some charging points 2 weeks ago (although you have to pay to charge them).

But I was slightly cheered up as VW announced the electric up (yes I know it looks like a washing machine) but with no lease and possibly £15k I'm pleased I've not committed to the zoe as I can't imagine I'll do as well with prices like that.

My final concern was the future value of any of these. Just wasn't sure any electric car is going to have a high residual value until the battery costs drop.
I know when the leaf was released GAP wouldn't even give a guaranteed future value on them for PCPs which is scary.

So far off topic but interesting to think we both had the same thoughts. Maybe next time deeyup.

I read in France that Renault also surcharge you something like €3 each time you do a fast charge. The car records when this happens so you can't get around it.
With the cost of the charge, the fast charge surcharge and the limited range before you need to plug in again you may not even make a saving over conventional cars after you've paid the monthly battery lease.

Anyway, I'm so off topic now, I promise no more electric car talk from me on here.

Had a nice little trip down to Cheddar Gorge today in the 4x4 and it was great. Really liking the engine and although I only managed around 41mpg I reckon there is more to come. The ride is ok, can be a little like being on a boat sometimes but that adds to the character. Attached a pic of the interior to show how it goes with the black paint. (y)
