I just spotted a big mistake.

DO NOT JACK UNDER THE AXLE BEAM

Chock the front wheels, jack under the end of the swing arm and support the underbody on an axle stand. Repeat on the other side. If you want it higher, raise each side in stages.
 
Well spotted, Dave - I missed this too!

The Panda (and 500) must never be jacked under the rear beam, as the beam will likely distort and ruin the rear suspension alignment.

IIRC there was a warning sticker on the rear beam when the cars were new, but these generally fell off after a few months.
 
I made an L section timber beam so the car can be jacked from the middle. But it's so much hassle to use there's really no point. Jack under the rear of the swing arm and put the axle stand under the sill at wheel change jacking point. You will need a slotted wood block to protect the bottom flange. Do one side and repeat for the other side.
