That wheel bearing sounds horrendous


That's gotta be getting hot

ia juggling the steering wheel left and right
When it's safe to do so
If the sound changes it's almost certainly the bearing

One thing I forgot to mention is

Wheel bearings can fail in dangerous way

I wouldn't drive too far or fast until it's been sorted

So unfortunately its been to a different mechanic and he confirmed its gearbox of diff. Would a bad bearing make this noise or a bad gear can make the screaching sound i took a video of.

You said it's front right

Makes no difference clutch up or down

Different gears make no difference, neutral makes no difference

The only thing that effects it is road speed

Propshaft and rear of gearbox spin with road speed, but this are all down the centre of the car

Not sure anymore, two different mechanic said the same thing, last year my rear diff had to be rebuilt i think it was a similar sound i thought it was a wheel bearing because it sounded from the outside but it was not. Well then, not sure which would be more worth it get a used gearbox or rebuild this one.
