General Palmer & Phillips Oxford Closed

Palmer and Phillips independent Fiat and Alfa Romeo specialists of Oxford have closed... don't know why, but I for one am sorry to see them go.

that's a great shame,

they were probably aged in their 50's..( early retirement maybe)
but there is little else around to match their friendly expertise

It is indeed a big shame, although could it be that they are closed for the holidays?

Also any tips on where else to go around the area? Palmer & Philips was very conveniently located.

I hope they've not gone. I've not used them for a while because my current car is in warranty & I don't want to give Alfa Romeo an excuse to wriggle out of potential warranty or goodwill claims, but I used to use them regularly with my previous Fiat Stilo & Punto & they were brilliant. I never had to return because something hadn't been done correctly or any of that other nonsense that often goes on with garages. Couldn't rate them highly enough.

On a brighter note, their website is still fully functional and doesn't say they've closed, so maybe they're ok?

It seems Mellors of Challow Fiat are now a general servicing garage rather than Fiat specific, so if Palmer & Philips have closed that leaves nothing other than main dealers in Oxfordshire, unless Solo Italia are still going, but they've changed names and moved once or twice so not so sure about them.

I tried ringing P&P yesterday..just rang
there is a sign in window saying closed- no info..there is little of their 'fleet'outside either...so looking permanent.

Not sure about Mellors they did Warranty work for me last year

I know this is an old thread, but just for Information Solo Italia are still in Business they Mot'd, fitted timing belt and New Front Suspension on our '05 Panda 4x4 pretty much when this thread was posted. Although they still love their Alfa's they have always been very kind to our little Bess for the last 3 years.

They are now based in Minster Lovell facebook dot com/SoloItaliaLtd
