Hey.

Has anyone actually painted there engine?

If so what colour?

And how would I go about doing it?

Obviously would need high temperature paint, but what pre-painting processes do I need todo?

I was assuming just clean the engine up and then apply the paint!

If u r just doin the rocker cover u can use the paint they use on the rest of the car.

for the rocker cover you will need hight temp paint, anything elese will crack and flake off!

I think he means the plastic cover.

I want to do wine but unsure if it will work as the cover still gets very hot.

But my dreams they aren't as empty, As my conscience seems to be...

Only on Mk1 models Lee. Mk2s have plastic rocker covers as opposed to the metal used on the Mk1s.

I believe Saints car is Broom Yellow so is a Mk2.

Yeah its the MK2 ...

If I just buy some high temp paint, then I can paint any of it really ....

Now just to decide on the colour :)

Goofd point al forgot that, if u have a alloy cover u can just use a good quality lacquer, no cracking.

Reckon Hammerite will do the job?

Used it on my calipers and drums.

Is it safe to paint any part of the engine within reason?

Think I have opted for yellow and red lol
