Technical P0520 / P 0520 P fault code and limp mode

Hello,
After a longish journey in the rain the other day - lots of stop / start in traffic - I felt the car (2017 Elite 1.6 Multijet) hesitate approaching a roundabout and put itself into limp mode. I manged to pull off somewhere and after turning the engine off and giving it a few minutes - started it back up and it was ok although the same thing happened about 45mins later after a drive down a dual carriageway. It again went into limp mode at a roundabout.

The code(s) coming up are P0520 / P0520 'P' which suggests something to do with oil pump, oil pressure etc. I've checked the oil (changed in January) and that looks ok.

Its run ok for the last few days but they've only been short local journeys

Anyone had a similar experience?

Check ** your oil pressure sender unit (on the block near the pump usually) first , and also engine main earth cable for condition and security of connections.

** (or even just replace it because it'll be fairly cheap)

The sender unit could be misreporting low pressure or you may actually have low pressure, elimate the potential misreporting by replacing that sender unit first.

Could be a throttle body, potentiometer problem. I had something similar on cable operated TB. Maybe the stepper motor was sticky, I cleaned the TB and after that I discovered the throttle positioning sensor was broken, it would indicate different position than the real one, put a new one. The similar thing was before I cleaned the TB, it happened a few times that when I would approach a stop sign/light and would let the engine in neutral, the RPMs would drop below idle for a second and the oil light would pop up. A couple of times the engine even stopped in those situations. I was wondering then a bit if there's anything wrong with the oil pressure, but I could feel the RPM dropping before oil light coming on. So I followed the lead on what's making the engine run bad and I discovered the TB problem and fixed it.
