So I recently made an internal move in work that was inclusive of a pay cut. Signed my new contract etc and my new pay was stated in there. Now I have been paid and my pay has reduced but I'm sure it hasn't been reduced as much as I expected.

Should I keep shtum? If payroll have reduced my wage already surely they won't look at it again for no reason?

My advise would be to put the 'suspected overpay' into a savings pot, if not mentioned about for 3 months, assume you can use it, if they then say it was an overpayment, agree to pay it back at £1 a week, saying that is all you can afford.

My dad done this once, got written off in the end as it cost the company more in interest.

Was thinking the same, as its been reduced already I'm doubtful they will look at it again tbh

Ask someone. Remember that if you're paid at a higher rate at the start of the tax year and then switch to a lower rate there will be an adjustment in tax - because you will have effectively overpaid tax whilst on the higher rate.

I fessed up :) worked out to be 512 a month, too much to chance lol
