The budget is getting under way, so,

'What does the budget mean for you?' we haven't had much debate.

  1. Pros and cons
  2. How it affects you?
  3. Do you think its a good idea?

Well lets be honest, we do need to start paying back what the labour took us into without us knowing about it.

it means are all gonna be out of pocket, no matter how nicely they package it up

it needs to be done in my eyes to bring England back from the brink, but to be honest they could pull half the troops out of afghanastan and save money there, they could also stop claiming expenses or at least cap it, and they could also get people on benefits to start earning there money by putting them to work gardening the local parks etc etc, they could also get the oil companies who make so much out of england pay a corporation tax on there profits

Fiat Marea Weekend 2.0 20v HLX 147 83k and so far so good!

it was always going to cost us money 20% VAT is the easiest way and something they will get most money from. It will hit our petrol but we have to be used to that by now!!

Like the previous post said about getting the out of work to do work on the parks. I have to say I sort of agree but then again if they are going to pay those people less than they do the companies they pay now that would mean more unemployment. I think not making us the easiest country to get into and claim benefits would go along way to help. A serious stance on illegals and those who can but WONT work should be the main one and actually not let brussels rule us and do what is actually good for our country for once

I could rant more but whats the point

i could rant but im not going to as everyone has own opinions to everythin and we all know where it leads..

A Fiat Marea in a Bravo Shell..its good to be different ;)
On the road for july :)

I agree with mike.

If Labour raised VAT there would be anachy but lets not get into that.

I'm in the building trade (small business owner), the rise inVAT won't do me any favours, and it won't do my customers non either.

It seems as though that we need to stop the wheels of motion in order to pay off our debt, I'm not convinced thats a good idea.

In a nutshell - nothing, really.

The sooner the Civil Service is privatised, the better.

Public Service employee soundbites always make me laugh..."why pick on us?", "we're an easy target"...of course you are, the private sector is in tatters keeping them afloat, it's about time 20% of the workforce fall inline with the other 80%. Bring on the strikes, there's gonna be zero sympathy.

As for the budget, it virtually has no effect on me, I'm living on a shoestring as it is, the tax threshold hike will most likely cancel out the VAT increase.

Problem is it's gonna be a long road, that's been 2 years already and we've got at least another 2-5 years ahead, I work in structural engineering and we're working virtually week to week, it's a f*cking pain in the a*se.
