Do you know what motherboard you have? (supply model number please)

Hi

Go to www.crucial.com and use their memory scanner. There is a link to it on the homepage. It will tell you what memory you have and recommend compatible memory for you to buy.

Well put the links in manually,

Or follow the PC World workers advice and buy a new comp. If its a old comp memory can be hard to come by new and you may need to get it off eBay.

I run a comp with worse specs than yours for a few things, and it depends what you want to do with it and also how much memory your system will support. How much you should get.

I would replace them all with 256Mb Sticks should give your comp a much needed boost, also cleaning out and unneeded or unwanted components that run in the background is a must.

Are you using XP?

Joske all i did was copy and paste them, i dont know what happened. Bloody computers, didnt put in any html for them, so network54 must have messed it up.

Mountain Machine, your post says you edited it at some stage.

I find that editing posts on this forum which contain hyperlinks usualy causes nightmares.

Anyone else find this?

Yes, if you edit your post, always double check any links as the forum software inserts various bits of HTML after you originally post. With MM's post, I went in subsequently and tidied things up.
