S3 very nice car, comfy, plenty of mod cons, superb build quality, very desirable car, fast lots of tuning kit out there, loads of nice subtle body lits too

i love the S3 its an awesome car, would defo have one my self

Type R, very basic compared to the S3 but they go well, look nice and are as its a honda so the car will last an last

tough call, i have a CRX and a Integra Type R at the mo, so I would say go for the honda

close call though as they are both nice cars in different ways, which ever yoiu buy you're on to a winner

@Roberto - the new Focus RS is on the way but you're right, you can't actually buy a new one at the moment.

@Bill - the new Focus ST will be around 220bhp which beats the old RS. They have also improved road handling and ride comfort a great deal. With all this in mind I remember reading somewhere they had it almost 4 seconds quicker than the old RS around the nurburgring.

The new Focus RS is rumored to be nearer 300bhp!

The reason... they are sticking huge volvo engines in both models.

comparing the type r and the s3 definately the s3 its got more class and holds strong value. Both are just as fast but you can do more to the s3 because it has a turbo plus 4 wheel drive.

147 GTA, a friend of mine has the 1.6 version and that fairly quick.

any body see the alfa 147gta on top gear, that thing was MENTAL
