I've just purchased a pair of Osram H7 X-Racer bulbs for my dipped beam. the bulbs i have been fitting seem to have a very limited life and i can only imagine this is because of vibration in the h/light arrangement (ive been using Ring, Phillips and Lucas bulbs previously and theres no signs of excessive heat or corrosion on the plugs/wiring)
The osrams have an equivalent HID temp of 4000K so they'll be slightly whiter than stock and the info says they have 20% more usable light. the kind of driving i do i dont require anything amazing, most of my night driving is around town on lit streets. ill see how long these last and if there is any notable advantage over stock.
They're supposed to be for bikes so should be up to the 'excessive vibration, causing premature failure' theory. i wanted a full set of Night breakers but ill have to wait until i have more money for that cos i bet it'll be around £60
watch this space.
