Sorry to hear of the delay but ETA is exactly that - estimated.

Transport companies will always try to optimise deliveries and loads - with less volume across all dealerships its inevitable that a few days can slip here n there.

Of course but that still doesn't stop me being annoyed and also doesn't stop it interfering with things.

I agree 306maxi... it is annoying when an estimate isn't delivered. I'd much prefer an over estimate than an under estimate.

We've been estimated mid September delivery, but I REALLY doubt it will be ready by that time (9-10 weeks). I much more expect it mid October. Unfortunately I think my fiancee is now hooked on the mid september date and I am aprehensive to push her away from the idea for fear of much Wrath.

Last new car i ordered came early, sat outside at the dealers unprotected for 2 months (wanted Jan registration) having had all its plastic removed on receipt, and then got swirled to death durig its preparation

End result >>One rejected Porsche - it isn't just Fiat dealers who are cr4p ;)

306maxi - i asssume you are dealing with Hartwell ?

Nope, not dealing with hartwell, dealing with Slaters who to be fair are doing all they can but are just physically waiting for the car to turn up. I know from experience that if a vendor calls up and says "deliver this faster please" they get told to sod off in no uncertain terms, it's only when the actual customer calls up that something happens.

The estimated date of delivery on the order sheet said 30/6 (8 weeks) which tbh I didn't take any notice of because I just knew it wasn't going to happen but for the car to be sitting with the transport company for a good week and a half or something is just stupid. It's 10 weeks today and if I knew I was getting the car tomorrow or even on Wednesday I could go oh well at least the end is in sight but it's not. I can stomach the car taking a while to build etc etc but for the car to just sit with a transport company? Why? Why? Why?

Anyhoo I've spoken to a lovely woman at Fiat CS called Sharon who was very nice and created a case for me so they can look into it further. It really seems like a case of a stupid system and a transport company who are jerking the dealer and myself around more than anything. As long as I find out an actual delivery date tomorrow I'll be happy, that's all I really want to be honest. I was hoping to go away for 3 days or so to Helsinki or Amsterdam next week and if it doesn't arrive soon it's just going to make that a bit more difficult. If I get some vouchers from Fiat I guess that would help a little but still it's slightly soured what was meant to be a nice thing for us.

Well it's apparently arrived at the dealers this afternoon. Had a lovely chat with someone from Fiat this evening, sorted out the 7 days free insurance and we're set for a Thursday afternoon pickup @ 4:30 or so.

I'm glad I called Fiat though because it meant that if it was going to be much later then at least they could have possibly done something about it. The service I got from the people @ Fiat CS was really good and assuming all goes as planned I'll certainly be writing a letter to Fiat CS saying how nice it was to get good customer service :) I got treated EXACTLY how I treat people at work who are nice to me which was nice. I think when you get good customer service then it should be celebrated rather than just taking it for granted which tbh is why there is so much **** CS in the UK.

What worried me though was the fact that the lady at Fiat didn't actually know where the car was which kind of reinforces my argument about it being a stupid system because I've worked in a job where in a few minutes you could find out where a flash drive the size of your pinkie was! Even if you order a package from Amazon you can find out where it is in the UK and you'd think that you should be able to track a car in a similar way. All details which I'll outline in my letter to Fiat!

We're all waiting...
Well I've got the 500 now :)
