Putting in each time I fill up?
Anyone else see any real benefits.?

Cheers
Peter.

I once put BP ultimate diesel in my rover, and it made a heck of a difference! Before that i was sceptical, as optimax never really did anything for my hlx.

i put it in my honda cbr and it went like the clappers!!! seemed to quiten the tappets too!

I LOVE OPTIMAX!!!

Yes it makes a difference.. was on the M1 in da skoda... only petrol at the service was optimax.... put a £10 in.. driving along.. thought this is a waste of money.. stoopd merc wouldn't let me into the fast lane so i booted it.. and bugger my charlie.. it took off!! 60-105mph quickly.. quicker than i expected!!

I'm now in love with a petrol!! Grave the blow up sheep back to ash! :)

My bother thinks it makes a difference in his 1.6 16v Clio (and i agree with him), but i have yet to notice anything in my HGT...

I tend to use it half the time. ie if i filled up with regular 95ron last time, i'll use optimax this time. since i dont usually let it get below half a tank, or a quarter if i'm driving alot, then i reckon its usually about 97ron mixed up in there. I'm not sure if thats how RON numbers work, but half and half works for me anyway.

Last time I used optimax I ended up buying new injectors :) Although I think the failure was unrelated to the petrol ;)

I sometimes use BP ultimate but mostly stick to the cheap stuff.

The petrol round our way has gone down (for the first time ever)...

It used to be 79.9p for normal unleaded, and 84.5p for Optimax.

It is now 74.9p for normal unleaded and 79.9p for optimax, so i have been using it for about 2 weeks...

Don't really notice the difference though.

Daz, i bet you any money that after say 4 weeks on optimax, if you go back to the old stuff, your car will feel sluggish! you dont initially notice the gain, but you'll notice when its gone!

Daz those prices are dirt cheap - it's been as high as 85.9 round here (manchester) and now it's down to about 77.9 - optimax was 90.9 when it went up a lot a month or so ago! :(

i think it depends on car,i used it on bravo and it does make car abit more nippy, not sure 100% but i think it works by having a higher octane level than normal petrol, just like the rest of em,cheapest ive seen is sainsbury's super unleaded which has higher octane than sainsbury's normal, think it was 77.9 last time i looked,u can also buy bottles of octane boost for car which do the same thing
im sure im right in a way(for a change)

sainsburys use BP ULTIMATE for their super and its 97RON as opposed to the regular 95...

its worth buyig superunleaded from them when you are there, because it'll still be cheaper than regular BP fuel elsewhere!

well wether it bp fuel or whatever, aslong as its cheaper than thats good news, sainbury's normal petrol it 74.9 i believe
glad the prices finally came down, did'nt think they'd drop this much though

Been using optimax in my 1.4 brava and it does make a difference, car much nippier low down overall! Which is a god send with the 1.4!
