Hey guys,

Not an idea how this goes in, here is the picture:

does the rubber bit of the orginial gear stick just come off? and is the plastic shaft threaded? As the OMP adaptor are threaded inside.

Thanks
Ming

Right, what i did was cut the knob off, file the ribbed bit down and screw the adaptor on. I did it to try and get the the stick as short as possible

You can see how much plastic i left on the above picture

A search would also have thrown up a thread by 'newboi' in which pictures of where to cut the gearknob etc are shown

3 years on here and not checking guides is a bit of a newbie error

Newboi's pics are included in custard's guide.
So, for a non sporting 1108 Sei, I simply cut off the old one at the preferred height and put the new one on.

How do generic gearknobs normally attach to the gearstick? By threads, grub screws etc? Or do you just squirt some epoxy into the knob and shove it on?

For the majority it's by grubscrew. On the non-Sporting's you don't need the adaptor, although it's nice to have something for the top of the gaiter to fix to.

I'll found a old broken shaft, but it is broken to far down, so the golden bits of the gear shaft hits the omp nob at the top.

Does anyone see any problem, if i were to grind a bit of the gold shaft off ?

Thanks
