Technical old tipe MAF

Hello,

Is there a way that old tipe of maf from marea 2.4 td can be cleaned? It is that aluminium box tipe of maf. It is hard to find it so is there a chance to change it with new tube model that was also built in marea 2.4 td models in 1998. My marea is 1997. model.

If its a flap type flowmeter (VAF) then there is nothing to clean, the best you can do is check the track resistances and voltage outputs when connected, the output voltage should rise and fall smoothly as the flap is pushed in.

I clean flap and whole case whit carb cleaner and open that sealed plastic and clean electronics in it. There is some kind of sensor that is moving over some track. I clean that track and now car is runing very well.
