I had a Lada 2101-3 1200s (the same as 124 4dr, only the engine (OHC) and rear brakes (drum) is the difference)
And now the Tipo 1.9 TDs DGT '89

My father has now a Marea Weekend 1.6 16V ELX
My brother has an Alfa 146 1.6 Boxer

All we need is something italian

My first car at 17 was a sky-blue 1976 127, with the 903cc engine (KFU909P, how I miss you).

My memories of that car are of course fond and rose-tinted:

  • Handled like it was on rails, I never seemed to slow down for a corner
  • Engine never missed a beat, so simple
  • Brakes OK but I seemed to spend half my time stripping and cleaning them
  • Second gear synchromesh gone, so became a dab hand at double-declutching
  • Fitted a cassette player by carving a hole in the (cardboard) dash and covering it with black-painted cloth
  • Rust? What rust? OK, I could see daylight through the rear window frame but it kept passing MoTs
That car taught me that simple is good, and you really don't need much more - so having just bought a new Panda I can feel the same character shining through, if a bit more refined.

....and that orange fuel warning light has re-entered my life like an old flame.

Forgot to mention on my a112 the fuel gauge that will just decide after half an hour of running that it gains double the fuel it had when i first get in and it decides to lose fuel when braking and cornering!

Here's my list in order of age:

600
Abarth Double Bubble
Abarth 750 Berlina
600D
850 Sedan
850 Sport Coupe
850 Spider
128 Sedan
2000 Spider

I also had a 500 but it never saw road use.

I sold my last Fiat, the 750 Berlina a few years ago. I just started looking for another 600 or a Zastava 750. I miss the old Fiats. It should be noted that I had two 850 spiders on the road. There were many parts cars as well over the years. In my early years with the 850s I would buy two to make one decent car.

The collection ran from the late 1950s up to 1980, a bit older than most posts. Many cars, many years.

A 1976 Fiat 133

Going to start restoring it this summer...
It has the 843cc engine.
Hoping to find a 903cc (from a 850) that I could swap for it, but I´d need a bit help with that I think...especially if it comes from a 127 or Uno and rotates the other way...

I'll have another 1967 850 Coupe on April 6, 2012. (y)

My dad had a light blue 903cc 127 as his first car which he did 110 in (downhill of course)! Next day he found that the engine had seized :(

I now have a light blue cinq with the 899! I wont be doing 110 in it though!

My first car, in 1968, was a 1955 Fiat 600. Only had it for a few weeks, as it would never had made it to Uni (Aberdeen seemed so far away!). Used to be able to get the speedo needle all the way round and heading for a second lap on the A3 from Hindhead to Milford. Sold it to an old school friend whose brother eventually rally-crossed it until the seat fell lthrough the floor!

In 1971 my wife and I bought a red 1968 500. We took it on a camping holiday to the Lake District and received a standing ovation from the walkers and climbers who had watched out progress up Hardknott Pass. A special moment! Bought a VW Beetle and, as it was winter and not the best time to try to sell a canvas-roofed car, we buried it under straw bales on a friend's Cotswold farm. A few weeks later, a college friend decided he wanted to buy it. I took him to the farm and pulled out enough bales for him to crawl into the car. It started first time (!) and on the basis of that, bought it on the spot!

Two days ago, collected a late '09 red 500c (to replace an '02 Porsche Boxster). I am loving it already!

I had:

1992 126p 650 - great little bug, was doing 130 km/h (down the hill)
1985 125p 1300 - great comfy saloon, was doing 130 km/h (on flat, spiting with oil)

:)

FIAT 131 Supermirafiori Sport - one in black (with orange velour) and another in silver (with black velour). I LOVED these cars (and the Lancia Betas).

Other old FIATs included, 131 Mirafiori (4 door saloon 1600TC) a 127 Sport (Yellow) and a 128.
