yes that is true, CHAVEZ subsidizes it like 90% or something like that. Fuel for the masses! I guess they don't even bother turning their cars off they just leave them running!

Hmm, 81 pence a litre the UK Government takes in tax. Clearly that is fair on us all. Hey, why not increase Government taxation further and just round it up to a quid a litre! In their defence though and to use the Government's own spin, 'We're actually helping the public by postponing or cancelling further tax increases'. Kind of makes you laugh really.

What makes you really laugh is how the public only deals with it by complaining about it daily hate style. Why not go and storm the Parliament and refuse to leave until they lower it. Action not words!

If you use a boat for commercial purposes, you can claim back the duty on the fuel (you should actually be able to for private use but they make it impossible)
and the vat if so registered.

When tesco do the combine 5 vouchers and get 50p per litre off you can actually have petrol at cheaper than Venezuela prices. It's nigh on free :D

Its sad we hear these type of statements far too often these days, public is treated like idiots hence the resentment towards government in general regardless of some good things which happen.

You are right ahmett this may or may not work but only lorry drivers have tried it.

In the UK we are hesitant to openly protest, when we do protest its internalised, so we are seen to ignore and seen to get on with our lives - we do admire the French for their protests. An element I can't link into this conversation eloquently is that UK is a massive service industry, people will not take time out to make complaints, we will also not take time out due to work (loss of pay, how you will be seen by the bosses, etc) to protest, this is the reason unions are better at protesting along with farmers etc and not service sector employees. We are basically screwed by the politics in this small country, complaining to the local MP does not produce results.

Not sure if above makes sense but protesting is a convoluted process in the UK plus its too cold to be standing outside, perhaps some one could sum it better than I can !!
