Have a couple of oil leaks to fix .

Before i undo this thing it would be nice to know what i am dealing with.
The oil leak is evident but i have no idea what the part is.
1 photo shows the part leaking oil, it is fitted into the head or top of block, roughly in line with the cam shaft.
Hidden behind the Mass Air Flow Sensor joining pipe.
It has a small wire fitted into the end just out of shot. The wire that can be seen on the photo attaches at the engine end as shown.
The other photo is a clean version of the part (lifted off the net) in an unassociated video.
This photo shows no wire.
So if anyon knows what it is and whether i should remove it (to clean and seal it in) without draining oil etc Pls inform me many thanks.
